At Bluewater Medical we follow a few principles that express how we think.
We focus and aim to master the fields where others struggle. If you are successful there, automatically you create a competitive advantage. This may be the design of the medical devices but it could as well be the complexity of the R&D process or the cost pressure on the products itself.

Rather than just developing the suggested solution we use techniques to understand what is driving the customer. What is the problem that he is trying to solve and what are his outcome measurements for success? This approach can lead to surprising innovative solutions that increase the benefit and are far from the original approach.

Some projects are like sail boats. They have a maximum speed by design, the hull speed. If under given circumstances you sail slower than the hull speed you are doing something wrong. Some exchange the helmsman or buy bigger boats but we analyze interfaces between departments and functions to optimize the flow and make your projects run in a way that you do not loose unnecessary time to market.

That is why we strive to achieve more with less. Keep the design simple but not simplistic and optimize manufacturing costs. Manufacturing costs have a bigger impact on the return of investment over the lifecycle of a product than attractive features that are complicated to produce and rarely used.
